A Mary Champion married John Lewis 11 March 1754, Chowan Co., N.C. Papers in the SC Archives (AA1173 & AA1174) attest to payments he received for services in the Southern Army & in the militia in 1781 & 1782, & that he served under Col. Frederick Kimball and Col. John Marshall in 1782.
