COPLEN, Fred James (Freddy) - It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Fred Coplen on Tuesday, October 16 at the St. Catharines General Hospital at the age of 45. Freddy was the beloved husband of Nannette (Cronin), loving father of Seamus (Jamie), Daniel, Thomas (Alex), Tiffany, Marley and Sarah and the beloved grandpa of Grayson. Freddy leaves behind his Mother Kathleen Penton (Art), father Fred Coplen Sr (Margaret), brothers Mark (Deirdre) and Dave Coplen and sister Linda Rupp (Mark). He will be fondly remembered by his grandmother Kathleen Dominic, many aunts, uncles and cousins, nieces and nephews. Fred will be missed by his father in law, Nelson Cronin and many sisters and brothers in law. Fred was employed by Mainstream and Grimsby Association for community living. He was an avid sportsman, musician and lover of all practical jokes. Fred had a great love of family and shared his time and talents with everyone. The family will receive friends at the HAMMOND FUNERAL HOME AND CHAPEL, 26 Ormond Street South, Thorold on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Vigil Prayers will be held in the funeral home on Thursday (time to be announced). Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Church (21 Queen St. S., Thorold) on Friday, October 19th at 11:00 am. Rite of Committal at Lakeview Cemetery, Thorold.
