Glenn L. Binkle, 85, of RR 4 Stratford passed away in Stratford General Hospital on Sunday, September 17, 2017. He was born in North Easthope Township on January 20, 1932 a son of the late Aaron and Elizabeth (Patterson) Binkle. Glenn farmed in North Easthope Township; was a member of the S. C. A. A. Shakespeare & Community Athletic Association; was a School Bus driver with Lawrence Diamond Coach Lines for over 30 years; in his younger years, was a member of the North Easthope Tug-of-War Team and had been involved with the North Easthope Antique Tractor Club. Glenn is survived by his wife, the former Shirley Ann Wilhelm, whom he married at New Hamburg on October 23, 1954; three children, Murray and wife Barb Binkle of Poole, Diane and husband Randy Schwartzentruber, Bruce and wife Cindy Binkle, all of Gadshill; nine grandchildren, Jason (Brooke) Binkle, Allyson (Jim) Hopf, Nathan Binkle, Megan (Greg) Schwartzentruber, Pam (Luke) Reiger, Darryl (Jill) Schwartzentruber, Sascha (Jake) Binkle, Blake (Jenna) Binkle, Spencer (Sydney) Binkle; eight great-grandchildren; one sister, Olive McDermid; two sisters-in-law, Grace Binkle and Margaret Binkle. He was predeceased by his sisters, brothers and in-laws, Reta and Laverne Pletsch, Earl Binkle, Isabel and William Bushfield, Duncan McDermid, Ernie Chick Binkle and Shirley Petznick as well as several Wilhelm brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Relatives and friends will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock St. N., Tavistock on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Friday, September 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. The Rev. Mary Stewart of Grace United Church, Tavistock will officiate. Interment is Lingelbach Cemetery, Township of Perth East. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the S. C. A. A.
