James Lee Penton, 75, well known citizen of Coosa County, died last week at his home in Equality. He was a native of that county. For more than a quarter of a centry Mr Penton served his community and county as a school teacher. His sterling qualities won for him a host of friends. The funeral was held Wednesday from Equality Baptist Church burial in the old Bethesda Cemetery. Pallbearers all great nephews were Bernard Warren, Lehman Warren, Rufus Bross, Bernard Arant, Randolph Penton Jr, and Willie Cousins. The Rev. Robert C. Edge, Montgomery, officiated. Besides his widow he is survived by three sons, W. L. Penton, Toronto Canada, L. B. of Equality, and D. M. Penton of Montgomery, one daughter Mrs. V. T. Thompson, Montgomery, 2 brothers R. S. D. Penton, Equality, and G. W. Penton Montgomery.3
